General FAQ's

What is the Cancellation/Late Appointment Policy?

We require a 24 hour notice for cancellations or changes to appointments.  Appointments cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled time will result in a cancellation fee of up to 50% of the service price. A no-call no-show will result in a charge of the full cost of the session.

We do not extend service times or issue refunds or reduce charges for late arrivals.  Late arrivals (arriving 15 minutes or more past the appointment start time) are subject to cancellation/rescheduling and will incur a rebooking fee up to 50% of the service cost.  Your practitioner reserves the right to ammend/modify your appointment if you are late by any amount of time.

Can I bring my kids?

Please arrange for childcare for children under the age of 16.  We love kiddos, but we have hazards in the studio.  Also please keep in mind that for lash services, your eyes must remain closed and there won’t be anyone available to supervise them.

Where can I park?

You can park right up front near our door! There are 15 minute spots market for EVERY OTHER alternating space, but only for the ones with signs directly in front of the spaces.   Our lot is convenient and free! There is also ample street parking which is also free.

Other important policies-

All service sales are final. Waxing FAQ's

Does waxing hurt? Can I reduce the pain?

We understand that our first time clients have a ton of questions, and we want to put your minds at ease! We strive to make your visit as quick and painless as possible.  Waxing does hurt! We aren’t gonna lie, but our professionals are trained in the latest techniques to make your experience quick and comfortable.  Even the biggest babies become regulars in our capable hands!

How do I prepare for my first wax?

We recommend using a gentle exfoliation several days before your first appointment and being well hydrated. If your skin is dehydrated, it tends to hold onto the hair a little bit more, that can result in breakage rather than complete removal from the root. We will also help you to relax and breathe during the appointment. The more tense you are, the more pain you experience. You can also take ibuprofen 45 minutes before your appointment.

How long does my hair have to be?

For the best results, hair needs to be at least ¼” to ½”. for most people this means waiting a minimum of 2 weeks from the last time you shaved (2-4 weeks on average). The longer you wait, the better. Your hair growth cycle completes itself in 30 days. We highly recommend a waxing schedule around every four weeks. Most wax clients are completely hairless for two weeks and then the hair starts to grow back slowly.  Please be aware that you may not be 100% smooth the very first time you wax. Your hair may also grow back "patchy". This is due to the hair growth cycles. Smoother skin comes with consistency!

What about medications?

Certain medications can affect the rate your skin exfoliates, create more sensitivity, or otherwise interfere with the waxing process. Accutane, Retin-A, Differin and other medications should be disclosed your waxer.  We also go through this information at the time of your appointment and on our consultation forms!

What about reactions?

Redness and histamine reactions are quite common from waxing.  This does not mean you are allergic to the wax.  Rather, your body is viewing the waxing process is an assault.  (Imagine that!)

Our homecare packets are full of information on this.

Uh-oh! It’s the day of my brazilian and I started my period. What should I do?

Although it might seem like a no-go, we can in fact wax you during your monthly cycle.  However, please bear in mind that you will be more sensitive to pain.

Lash FAQ's

How long do lash extensions last?

Typically lashes last between 4-6 weeks, or indefinitely with regular touch-ups.

What is the difference between classic and volume lashes?

Classic lashes are a 1:1 ratio, meaning one extension applied to one natural lash.  They are great for adding length, and a bit of thickening and fullness to your lash line.  They are best for gals with normal to full lash lines.  Volume lashes are a ratio of  2:1 (2D), 3:1 (3D), 4:1 (4D), etc. Volume lashes are much thinner in diameter than classic lashes, and are lighter, which allows the multi-lash application. Volume lashes make a great option for gals with less-full lash lines, because we can add more lashes.  Volume lashes are also the best option for achieving the fullest lash line possible. Both are beautiful!

How do they work?

We apply a synthetic lash to your natural lash using a medical-grade adhesive.  The lashes and adhesive never touch your skin, making the process safe and pain-free!

What about mascara?

At Le Chic Lash Boutique, we believe in the lash partnership.  We will cleanse, prime, and prep your lashes for the longest and strongest bonding possible, and use the best products.  However, the care of your lashes will require a full effort on your part as well.  This includes, avoiding oil-based products near the eye area, avoiding mascaras and certain eyeliners near the extensions.  Mascara does also leave an invisible residue on the lashes that will interfere with the bonding process. Because of this- we highly recommend discontinuing the use of mascara 24 hours before your lash appointment.

You will also need to cleanse your lashes daily with an approved lash cleanser or makeup remover to prevent build-up on your lashes.

We recommend a foaming lash cleanser formulated for lash extensions which we carry at the studio.

Why can't I book a refill appointment if I already have lashes on from somewhere else?

Techniques and products vary greatly from salon to salon, and it is difficult to ensure a positive outcome when we don't know what to expect with your current lash extensions.  However, the most important reason we do not currently offer to refill over lashes from unknown salons is SAFETY.  Your lashes may not have been properly isolated, and may have lash extensions which would be damaging to your natural lash and follicle health.  There is unfortunately no way to tell this without first inspecting your lashes in person. Is having an educated lash artist important to you?  If you are open to hearing feedback about your current lash extensions, and value your natural lash health and safety as much as we do, then we are happy to do a consultation to see what steps we need to take to bring you on as a client!  Just give us a call at 303-884-6989 and we will get you set up.
